The Joseph A. Britton Agency was founded in 1968 to fill the void in New Jersey’s medical malpractice insurance market. At that time, there were very few medical malpractice insurance options available to New Jersey physicians and surgeons, but the agency was able to provide quality Occurrence professional liability insurance at exceptional rates.
Today, the Joseph A. Britton Agency offers a broad spectrum of commercial insurance products in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania through both the standard insurance market and the surplus lines market.
Company History
The agency administered the following professional liability insurance programs:
- Medical Society of New Jersey – 1968 to 1977
- New Jersey Medical Malpractice Reinsurance Association – 1977 to 1982
- American Psychiatric Association (Nationwide) – 1972 to 1985
In 1982, the Joseph A. Britton Agency was appointed as the first agent of the Princeton Insurance Company and remains today as one of the company’s largest agents.
